Currently Gaming: Brain Age

I've been thinking of starting to post again for quite a while now, but hadn't had anything to write about. . . until now!  Our son Greg is beginning his 5th week of boot camp at Parris Island tomorrow, so I thought I'd use this forum to keep friends and family up-to-date concerning his training.   We are so proud of him!  Greg has written us two letters, each of which took him two nights to write because of the limited "free" time he has.  The recruits are given so little time to themselves.  That's been the most frustrating thing for Greg, no time for even talking among themselves, and we all know how Greg likes to talk!  He seems to be do fine, counting down the days til graduation on October 20th.  We are anxious for that day to come ourselves!!  Keep him in your prayers and if you'd like to write to him, here's his address:

RCT Richmond, Gregory D.

PLT 2080  2nd BN  G Co.

Box 12080

Parris Island, SC  29905-2080

Please remember that while Greg's in boot camp, we can't send him anything but letters.  You can include stamps for letters, pictures, and news clippings but nothing else.  Thanks for your support and your prayers!

Xanga

This has been a wild month!  Between disaster relief efforts, setting up camp for non-existant evacuees in Pickens county, and helping to get ready for Christmas in the city, I don't know whether I'm coming or going.  I'm sure that there are many others who are feeling the effects of the hurricanes much, much more than I.  But God is good, and He is faithful and I'm thankful that I can lean on His strong arms through it all.

Emily Brockinton sent me a link to her pictures from the summer at Camp Grandview this week.  What a hoot!!  Makes me homesick for all my peeps, wishin' it was June again already!  We had an awesome summer and a staff that could not be beat!  The fact that during the first three weeks of camp you didn't know once you got in the shower if you'd get out with or without soap still all over you because the water had gone out again seems to be only a faint memory.

Tom and I were supposed to be in Rome or Greece or Turkey these two weeks; yet another cancellation ala Katrina.  The trip has been rescheduled which I think is a blessing in disguise.  We're now going to go in April through the first week of May which should be a less hectic time.  We'll see!

Writing this  blog is the stangest thing to me.  I guess because I never was one to keep a journal or a diary when I was a kid, and I just can't imagine anyone being interested in what's happening in my little ol' life.  But you know, I find myself reading blogs of all kinds, so maybe someone out there will be curious.  Who knows!  Have a blessed day!

Currently Playing: Wow Hits 2005
Here I am; beginning a blog.  Guess it's time to "get with the times"!  I'm anxious to start, but unsure of where to begin.  I think I'll think on it for a bit .      Catch you later!
